Want this done for you, across every job?

This does the math for one pay period. Jobsite derives your full G702 cover and G703 continuation sheets straight from your schedule of values across every job — handling retainage release, balance-to-finish, and refusing to let a line over-bill — so the two sheets always tie out to the penny and never bounce.

Frequently asked questions

How is construction retainage calculated?

Retainage is a percentage — most commonly 5% or 10% — withheld from the value of work completed and materials stored to date. Retainage held = retainage % × (work completed to date + materials stored to date). The owner releases it at substantial or final completion per the contract.

How do I calculate the current payment due on a pay app?

Total completed and stored to date, minus retainage, gives total earned less retainage. Subtract the total of previous certificates for payment (what you've already been paid), and the result is the current payment due this period. That is the core of AIA G702 lines 6–7.

Can I bill for materials I've bought but not installed?

Usually yes — that's what G703 Column F (materials presently stored) is for. Most contracts let you bill for material that has been delivered and properly stored but not yet installed, provided it's documented, on site or in a bonded location, and insured. Once installed, its value moves into the completed-work columns.
