Connect Claude to Your Safety Program: Free Tools and 15 Prompts

Updated November 3, 2026

Jobsite works inside Claude through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the standard way an AI assistant connects to a tool. There are two connectors, and you can use the first today without an account:

  • Jobsite Safety Reference (free, no sign-in): `https://jobsitecerts.com/api/mcp/public`. Reference answers only; it reads no company's records.
  • Jobsite (signed in): `https://jobsitecerts.com/api/mcp`. Claude works from your own company's records, as you, behind your own permissions.

Answers from the free connector come from Jobsite's own corpus and requirements inventory. They are reference information, not legal advice.

What the free connector does

Each tool below is real and needs no account or key.

ToolWhat you get
`search_law_corpus`Verbatim regulation text with its citation and whether it is binding law or guidance: 29 CFR, the California, Washington and Oregon heat and wildfire-smoke rules, OSHA interpretations, and NIOSH/CDC/EPA guidance
`osha_recordability_check`Describe an injury; Jobsite applies the OSHA 29 CFR 1904 decision tree and returns the proposed classification with the rule text and any report-to-OSHA deadline, or the questions it still needs answered
`get_toolbox_talk`A ready-to-deliver talk from a library of nearly 300, in English or Spanish: talking points, a discussion question, duration and the OSHA standards it is built on
`training_required_for`The training Jobsite's requirements inventory assigns a trade in a state, each row with its citation, quoted rule text and a mandate, condition or policy label
`search_regulatory_news`Recent OSHA rulemaking and news from the Federal Register and OSHA's news feed
`lookup_jobsite_docs`How Jobsite itself works
`search_articles`Jobsite's published articles and guides
`start_jobsite_workspace`Creates a sample-data workspace for you to try; Claude asks first, and hands you a one-time claim link that expires in 7 days

Limits worth knowing: the free connector allows 60 requests a minute from one network address. A trade or topic missing from the inventory returns "not in Jobsite's requirements inventory", which is never the same as "no training required". The toolbox talks are free to read aloud, print and use with your crew; they are not for republishing or bulk copying.

What the signed-in connector adds

Connect your Jobsite account and the free tools still work, alongside tools that read your company's records as the manager who approved the connection. That includes what needs your attention today, a job's status and money, workers and their training and certifications, who is cleared for a task on a date (always "per Jobsite's training records", never a claim that someone is certified), expiring certifications, your Safety Index, and the OSHA recordability check against your own incident register. Full tool list: the connector documentation.

It needs a Jobsite manager account that can manage jobs, on a plan that includes integrations.

What it will and will not do

  • Drafts you finish. With "Draft things for me to finish" ticked on the consent card, Claude can draft things such as a daily log, a vendor bill or a first incident report. A person reviews and finishes them in Jobsite.
  • Changes only if you allow them. "Also allow changes" is a separate tick, off by default. Every change can be previewed first with a dry run, and Claude can undo it afterward, until the record has been used.
  • One company, your permissions. Claude never sees more than the manager who approved it, and a connection is re-checked on every request.
  • Never. The connector cannot pay, schedule or export a payment, run or release a pay run, or mark anything paid. It cannot send anything to a customer, vendor or general contractor. It cannot delete workers, change anyone's role or override a certification.

Add it to Claude

Free connector

1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors. 2. Choose Add custom connector and enter `https://jobsitecerts.com/api/mcp/public`. No sign-in is asked for. If you see Jobsite Safety Reference in Claude's connectors directory, you can add it from there instead. 3. Ask a question from the list below.

Signed-in connector

1. In Settings → Connectors, find Jobsite and choose Connect, or add a custom connector with `https://jobsitecerts.com/api/mcp`. 2. Claude sends you to Jobsite. Sign in, then read the consent card: it names the company and the site you will be returned to (for Claude, `claude.ai`). 3. Tick the draft and change boxes only if you want Claude to write. Choose Approve.

Claude plugin (Claude Code and Cowork) adds ready-made workflows such as the Monday safety brief and an injury's first 24 hours on top of the signed-in connector:

``` /plugin marketplace add ethicalfrei/jobsite-claude-plugin /plugin install jobsite@jobsite ```
ChatGPT: Jobsite's ChatGPT listing is coming and not live yet. Until then, use Claude.
15 things a safety manager can ask Claude with Jobsite connected
The first eight work on the free connector with no account. The last seven need the signed-in connector. The tool Claude uses is named next to each.
A few habits that help
Name the state when you ask about training or heat rules, since several states add to federal OSHA. Ask Claude to quote the rule text it found, so you can read the rule yourself. And treat every answer as a starting point: confirm anything you will rely on with the regulation or your safety professional.
